Microadventures
It’s about making ordinary things in our lives different.
It’s about breaking our routines.
It’s about enjoying our surroundings.
As much as I like to explore new countries and new cultures, I love small adventures, which are not requiring much effort in terms of time, planning or money spent and ideally, they are happening during the working week so it nicely splits 5 tough days.
One of my favourite microadventures is watching sunrise or sunset from one of the peaks around.
Just don’t forget to pack with you for these specific microadventures
- good headtorch with extra pack of batteries (Or instead of batteries, fully charged mobile phone, which saved my life many times.)
- warm jacket, or even hat and gloves (It’s much colder in higher altitudes, in the dark when waiting for sunrise, after sweating your way up to the peak or after sun goes down.)
- study the map before, ideally you take familiar trail or the trail you checked out some other day (Even familiar trail looks different in the dark. Believe me, I misplaced the trail on my favourite mountain Monte San Salvatore when going up for a sunrise, because there were just too many leaves on the path…)
- don’t look directly into the sun without proper eye protection
Nice to have are for sure snacks and flask with warm tea.
Depends on microadventure you want to go for, above are very basics for watching sunrise or sunset.
